The Southeast Institute of Biblical Studies is a work of the Karns church of Christ. Though David Lipe serves as the director, SEIBS is ultimately overseen by the elders at Karns.
Don Denton was born in Yuma, Carroll County, TN. He and his wife, Margaret, have three children. He and Margaret have been members of the Karns congregation since 1967. All three children were baptized while attending the Karns congregation and have remained faithful after leaving home.
Don is retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority and Martin Marietta Energy Systems, and currently is self-employed.
Don has served as an elder of the Karns congregation during two periods, from 1980 until 2002 and from 2005 until the present.
Don Wagner was born in Mt. Vernon, IN. He is the last of thirteen children and has 1 living brother and sister. On May 18, 1957, he married Ann Marie Rich. He was baptized in 1958 at the West Side Church of Christ in Evansville, IN.
Don and Ann have two children. Their daughter, Andrea Nelson and her husband, Martin, presently live in Kansas City, MO. Their children are Erin Marie, Kyle Martin, and Lindsay Kay (twins). Their other daughter, Michele Williams and husband, Jay, live in Pendelton, KY. Michele and Jay have three children: Reilly Rene, Presley Ann, and Alex Ian.
Tony Williams was born in Chattanooga, TN and was baptized in 1975 at the East Ridge congregation. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1988 and a Master’s Degree in 1991. He is presently employed by Custom Foods.
Tony placed membership with the Karns congregation in 1999 and later served as deacon over education, insurance, and building maintenance before becoming an elder in 2008. He has also served on mission trips stateside, in Russia and Curacao.
He married Deanna Perry in 1995 and they have three daughters.
Gregg Woodall, a Knoxville native, was born in 1958 and has been a member of the Lord’s church since 1968 (Farragut Church of Christ). He first attended Karns as a child from 1962 to 1964 and then returned during his college years beginning in 1976. He served as a deacon from 1981 to 2005 and has served as an elder since 2005.
Gregg married Sherrye Floyd in 1977, and they have four children, all members of the Lord’s church. Gregg, Sherrye and their married children are graduates of Freed-Hardeman. Gregg is a CPA, CVA and works in his own firm.
